As many of you know, PSA tests are not currently covered under OHIP. Patients must pay for their PSA before the test is performed by their community lab provider.
However, the Ontario government has recently announced funding to cover PSA tests. The Ministry of Health and Long-term Care has yet to announce when this service will be included under OHIP. We will inform our patients and physicians as soon as we learn more details.
In the meantime, we must continue to request payment for performing PSAs. Thank you for your understanding.
