New Test from LifeLabs - ColonCancerCheck FOBT 

We are pleased to announce LifeLabs' participation in ColonCancerCheck, a new provincial colorectal screening program being offered in Ontario.

ColonCancerCheck is designed to detect colorectal cancer in an early asymptomatic stage, thereby reducing the rate of mortality. One of the ways the program supports this goal is by providing funding to screen all average risk men and women 50 years and older using the fecal occult blood test (FOBT).

LifeLabs is supporting ColonCancerCheck in a variety of ways, including the direct provision of fecal occult blood testing. On April 1, we will begin processing FOBT using a new standard kit for patients referred to us for testing under the ColonCancerCheck program, while continuing to perform the standard FOBT for patients who do not qualify under this initiative.
